Steve Wozniak

Steve Wozniak is a Co-founder of Apple Computers, along with Steve Jobs, hence amongst his many nicknames he is often known as the "Other Steve".

By 1970 Wozniack met with Jobs through their work on a mainframe computer. Their partnering initiated the Personal Computer Revolution. At first Wozniak had his own doubts to the proposal of putting a fully constructed PC board on the market suggested by Jobs. Throwing caution to the wind the pair set about selling their few assets and possessions availiable to fund their experimentations- this preliminary experience of their newly joint efforts led to the formation of the Apple Computer company in 1976.

Wozniak, as vice president, was head of research and development. First came the Appple I computer. However much of the capabilities and neccessary connections were not included, making the original model what was known as a ''Hobbyist Machine'.

Once the first of the Apple I's were sold to an emerging computer store, Wozniak dedicated his time to improving and adjusting Apple I to form a more commercial, user-friendly model (the Apple II). The additions including high-resolution graphhics, a floppy-disk drive controller, a simple operating and filing system. Along with his abundant hardware provisions for the recently fledged company, Wozniack wrote the majority of the software provided initiallly with the Apple.

This innovation, which garnered astounding new possibilities the future of the technological industry, had made the two Steve's multimillionaires before Wozniak's 30th bithday in 1980.

Although Wozniak remains an employee and a shareholder he ceased full-time emploment 12 years after the Apple company formation.

A sterling success story of innovation, risk, prococious creation and, most certainly, impressive, future-foundation results.
